Bacterial vaginosis is caused by an overgrowth of harmful bacteria within the vagina. It can be difficult to isolate the exact causes of why this has happened and this is why conventional treatment concentrates on treating the symptoms rather than the causes. Home remedies for bacterial vaginosis can be very effective as they tend to concentrate on eliminating the root causes.

Under normal circumstances, a healthy vagina contains a variety of bacteria, the most important of which is Lactobacillus. This helps to maintain a slightly acidic environment which prevents the growth of harmful bacteria. There can be a number of reasons why Lactobacillus decreases, but the result is always an overgrowth in harmful bacteria, causing the typical symptoms of bacterial vaginosis. Although not initially dangerous, if left untreated , bacterial vaginosis can lead to pelvic inflammatory disease or even infertility.

Bacterial vaginosis is very common and affects between 10 and 60% of the female population at any one time. Typical symptoms include a gray or white watery discharge, a very unpleasant fishy vaginal odor and unbearable itching and burning.

Conventional medication will usually include antibiotics, which can help to kill off harmful bacteria but unfortunately, as they do not treat the root cause, it is highly likely that the condition will recur. In addition, antibiotics do not discriminate between good or bad bacteria and so this leaves the vagina very vulnerable to further infection.

Home remedies for bacterial vaginosis often include the use of tea tree oil, cider vinegar and probiotic yogurt.

* Tea tree oil- this is a powerful antibacterial substance and a few drops can be added to a warm bath. Alternatively, tea tree oil pessaries can be bought from health food stores

* Cider vinegar- as the normally acidic conditions within the vagina are usually lowered when you have BV, cider vinegar can help to restore balance. Add a couple of cups to a bath and sit in it for around 20 minutes

* Probiotic yogurt- The bacteria within this yogurt are the same as those found within a healthy vagina. Try dipping a tampon in the yogurt and leaving it in place in the vagina for a couple of hours

Although these tips will help, to be completely sure of getting rid of BV, it is important to eliminate all the possible causes. A natural treatment will help strengthen the immune system, giving the body the ability to fight and kill the bad bacteria present in the vagina. There are three excellent treatments, all of which are completely guaranteed to work not only to give fast relief, but to stop the condition permanently. If you are one of the many thousands of women who have recurrent attacks, then this is absolutely vital.

Don’t despair though-these treatments will work even if you can’t seem to shake off bacterial vaginosis.

Symptoms and Treatments for Bacterial Vaginosis

Medical Treatments For Bacterial Vaginosis

Bacterial Vaginosis (BV) is a common bacterial infection affecting up to 30% of women. Symptoms appear in only 20-30% of women affected with BV, and can mimic the symptoms of other infections, such as yeast infections and sexually transmitted diseases. Itching, grayish discharge, and a fishy odor are the most common symptoms of BV. In some women, a mild fever or burning upon urination may occur, leading many women to believe they have a bladder infection.

Diagnosis of bacterial vaginosis must be done by a doctor, to rule out any other diseases that can cause the same symptoms. A pelvic exam, cell culture, and Pap smear will likely be done to aid in the diagnosis.  Once diagnosis is made, treatments for bacterial vaginosis include oral antibiotics and vaginal gels or suppositories. Side effects vary depending on the treatment chosen, but the most common side effects are nausea, upset stomach, and secondary yeast infections.

The Most Common Treatments For Bacterial Vaginosis

The most common treatments for bacterial vaginosis are oral antibiotics, namely Tinidazol. Infections that do not respond to Tinidazol may be treated with metronidazole (also known asalt="treatments for bacterial vaginosis" Flagyl), in either oral or gel form. Oral metronidazole is considered the most effective treatment, although it is the most likely to cause side effects. Vaginal gels are usually used in patients who have negative side effects to oral medication, or for those who cannot swallow pills.

alt="treatments for bacterial vaginosis"

Bacterial vaginosis may also be treated with a vaginal cream (Cleocin) in patients who do not respond to other treatments. While effective in treating bacterial vaginosis, vaginal clindamycin cream may cause severe yeast overgrowth, so many doctors will also prescribe medication to treat yeast infections along with bacterial vaginosis.

Alternative Treatments for Bacterial Vaginosis

While your doctor’s prescription will undoubtedly relieve the majority of the unpleasant symptoms from BV, it will not prevent bacterial vaginosis from recurring. It is very important to use treatments for bacterial vaginosis that will deal with the cause of BV, namely an alt="treatments for bacterial vaginosis"imbalance in the PH of the vagina. When the “good” bacteria is over run by the “bad” bacteria infection occurs and the more acid bacteria continues to grow. So that even though the medication did remove the symptoms, the medication itself is one of the causes of BV. Antibiotics are known for killing the bacteria. A healthy vagina requires bacteria – just in the appropriate PH levels. Other causes include – semen (often semen is much more acidic than the vagina), bubble baths, over the counter douches with “odor eliminating” agents, and clothing that is too tight and presses on the sensitive labia.

Natural treatments for bacterial vaginosis can include supplementing your diet with alt="Treatments for Bacterial Vaginosis"cranberry juice or concentrated capsules. Garlic, nature’s wonder drug is also very helpful in removing the infection and aiding the body to re-balance the PH levels. Yogurt has been used successfully to repopulate the vagina with “good” bacteria.  For more information see my review of BV Miracle

Although bacterial vaginosis is not dangerous in itself, it has been shown to cause premature birth in some pregnant women, so routine screening for BV is standard in pregnancy. BV has also been known to cause infections in newborns who are exposed to it during birth, but the infection is usually mild and has no long term consequences for most healthy infants.

During and after any treatments for bacterial vaginosis, keeping the vaginal area clean and dry is important to prevent recurring infections. Infection may recur despite your best efforts, but practicing good hygiene during and after treatment is essential. Sexual activity during treatment may cause reinfection, so using a condom or avoiding sex altogether during treatment is a good idea. Avoid the use of douches, vaginal deodorants, and over-the-counter vaginal gels during treatment.

You are not alone, many women suffer from this common condition. And now you have found the source for treatments for bacterial vaginosis – so since  you have the information you need – take action and finally be free of BV!

Bv Miracle Review

You’re reading my uncensored review of what I really thought about BV Miracle     – Sherry Fields here!

Note that this is a review. If you’re looking for the official BV Miracle website, then click here: BV Miracle

Why am I writing this? Well, when I was thinking of buying BV Miracle, there weren’t many real reviews around.

So, I thought I’d do a quick write-up to help any of you who are in the same position I was.

But be warned, I’ll be going into the good and the bad points of BV Miracle, so if that’s not something you want to read, you might may as well leave now.

My first impressions of BV Miracle:

When preparing to write my BV Miracle review, I was quite frankly shocked. Today there are many products online that claim to have “the answer” “the cure”, but are mainly just mashed up pieces of information to build out their ebook.

BV Miracle is as far from that as it can get. I was very pleasantly surprised to find a lot of research was done to get the whole story and present them in a very readable way.

The table of contents is four pages long! This product does not meander and leave you confused about the issues surrounding bacterial vaginosis. With a very thoughtful and progressive introduction to BV, the book continues looking at what every woman wants to know – is it curable.

Before that can be answered it is important that the reader really understand what BV is, what are its symptoms, how is it diagnosed, are there complications and finally what are the treatment options. BV Miracle covers these questions completely.

The top 5 things that I learned from BV Miracle:

1. Bacterial Vaginosis is the most common infection of all women of childbearing age.

2. There are over 17 known causes of BV.

3. Over half of women infected with bacterial vaginosis have no symptoms at all.

4. It is very important to have a clear diagnosis, so that proper treatment can be applied.

5. Natural treatments are numerous and varied and include herbs, homeopathy, specific baths, douches, dietary changes, life style changes, replacing the good bacteria and taking supplements to not only fight infection but build up your immune system.

alt="BV Miracle"

What I find most useful about BV Miracle:

In this BV Miracle Review it is important to point out how comprehensive this ebook really is! All of the allopathic options are discussed clearly without bias and even support in some cases, as well as the naturopathic approach.

Women today need all the information and resources available to make an informed decision about the care of their bodies. There are noted resources throughout the book as well as three pages of bibliography at the end, for everyone to pursue more/varied data on subjects discussed.

The clear concise way the book is laid out will make it a useful reference for all women to keep and share with daughters, other family members and friends.

Who would benefit from purchasing BV Miracle:

Women who are experiencing symptoms of bacterial vaginosis – vaginal discharge, odor, itching or burning sensations in the vaginal area or during sex or during urination will benefit immediately.

  • Women who have BV recurring will finally have information to deal with the cause of bacterial vaginosis, treat it and get on with their lives.alt="BV Miracle"
  • Women who are pregnant, as BV can cause complications such as premature delivery and low birth weight babies, or even an ectopic pregnancy.
  • Women who have a new sexual partner, or multiple partners and women in lesbian relationships.
  • Women who smoke.
  • Women who douche frequently with perfumed products, or frequently have perfumed baths.
  • Women who lead stressful lives and don’t take the necessary time or steps to relax and rejuvenate.
  • Women who lack essential nutrients – often from following restrictive diets.
  • Women who have poor sleep patterns.

What I think was left out of BV Miracle:

As comprehensive as BV Miracle is, this is not a source of medical case studies or clinical studies reported in the medical journals. BV is still enigmatic for the medical community and they freely admit they do not know the exact cause and have been frustrated finding a cure. At best they provide relief through antibiotics, knowing that the disease will reoccur.

To be fair in my BV Miracle Review, this is one woman’s journey and how she found a permanent cure. From the content it is clear that she researched all possible areas to find the best information to cure bacterial vaginosis and succeeded. Often in the naturopathic world there is not sufficient funding to provide ongoing research and empirical evidence to support subjective testimonies.

How quickly BV Miracle can help someone:

Some women report relief from symptoms in as little as 3 or 4 days. However to fully treat bacterial vaginosis you need to address all of the other issues mentioned previously, such as dietary changes, life style changes and supplementation.

Building your immune system is an integral part of a ‘cure’. It is important not to skip this step. In order to rid your body of the infection and stop re-infection you need to take supplements to rebuild your immune system.

Proof that BV Miracle really works:

This is the author Megan MacDonald’s story:

“After years of struggling with BV I have to tell you there is nothing as embarrassing, as painful, or as annoying as having re-occurring bacterial vaginosis infection. It’s difficult to deal with, difficult to have a sexual relationship with, and almost impossible to live with.”

“I tried everything. From the drugs to different drugs to the suppositories and even more drugs. Nothing worked. The first round of drugs worked for a week and then I started having sex again with my boyfriend and I swear it came back overnight.”

“I hated it and my life for so long. Now I have to tell you that my BV is finally gone! Not just gone for a week or two, but gone as in forever! It’s such a relief. I can’t believe it. My self confidence is back. I’m back!”

Additional skills or tools needed to get the most out of BV Miracle:

There aren’t any skills or tools needed, but you will have to be committed to achieving your goal and do all of the steps involved. It may mean that you will have to buy supplements, or make better food choices, reduce your stress and quit smoking. But the relief will be worth it.

My final words about BV Miracle:

In summary, if you have been suffering from bacterial vaginosis you will benefit from the book BV Miracle. If you are not sure if you have BV then you too will benefit from the well written and researched information in this book. If you have had BV and are pregnant and have questions, you will find the answers in BV Miracle.

What are the Symptoms of Bacterial Vaginosis? How does BV Miracle work with these symptoms?

It is estimated that 30% of women in the United States have bacterial vaginosis, however an estimated 85% of those women will show no symptoms of BV at all.

For those that do have symptoms of BV, there are two signs:

  1. A milky-white discharge that varies from being as thin as a light cream to as thick as a toothpaste.
  2. An unpleasant odor that has a foul fishy smell.

It is also very common for women suffering from BV to only show symptoms when having sexual intercourse. The discharge and odor can completely unnoticeable until sexual activity.

A few other BV symptoms that you may hear about is irritation, itching, or some pain during sex. It is not believed that these are direct symptoms of bacterial vaginosis. Information in the ebook BV Miracle will help you recognize and remove the symptoms.

Why Does Bacterial Vaginosis Keep Coming Back? And What Makes BV Miracle Different?

The primary reason for chronic bacterial vaginosis is because most women fail to address the reasons why they are getting bacterial vaginosis. Most women do not understand what causes it and therefore do not know how to avoid it.  A quick read of BV Miracle will give you a better understanding of the causes.

Most suffer for years from recurring bacterial vaginosis infections. Most women have tried many of the traditional treatments over the years but nothing really gives them permanent relief.

After doing a lot of research,  a 4-step method to treat bacterial vaginosis infections (especially recurring BV infections) was discovered. This method is fully outlined in BV Miracle.

In order to overcome this embarrassing and frustrating condition, it is often not enough to take antibiotics like Flagyl because you’re still not treating the causes of BV. To achieve permanent relief from the symptoms of BV, you must accomplish the following steps

  1. Eliminate the bad bacteria
  2. Increase the good bacteria
  3. Boost your immune system so that your body has the fuel it needs to keep the bad bacteria from overwhelming the good.
  4. Avoid re-infection with some simple, but not-so-well-known lifestyle changes.

Steps 3 and 4 are very important for avoiding recurrent bacterial vaginosis! These steps are not to be ignored if you want permanent relief.

Steps to Permanent BV Treatment

  1. Eliminate the bad bacteria
  2. Increase the good bacteria
  3. Boost your immune system so that your body has the fuel it needs to keep the bad bacteria from overwhelming the good.
  4. Avoid re-infection with some simple but not-so-well-known lifestyle changes.

The 65-page book called “The BV Miracle“  covers everything you need to know to accomplish the four steps listed above.

The BV Miracle is available exclusively from the link below and can be downloaded instantaneously to your home computer safely, securely and discreetly.

Bacterial Vaginosis Natural Cures

Looking For Bacterial Vaginosis Natural Cures?

Bacterial vaginosis natural cures are a more viable choice than consuming drugs which simply cover up the problems as opposed to treating the base causative agent. A number of females believe that organic remedies take longer to work than antibiotics however these are not the facts. Indeed, a good natural cure will have approaches to quickly destroy some of the worst conditions and can provide a healing within days.

BVF" target="_blank">Bacterial vaginosis natural cures are a wise choice for remedying this obnoxious situation. For many women, bacterial vaginosis is not a one-time occurrence but can persevere for years, reoccurring and abating irregularly.

There is one bacterial vaginosis natural cure which can work very effectively to treat this condition. BV Miracle will show you how. However, the term “natural cure” is a very vague expression because there are a myriad of merchants all touting bacterial vaginosis natural cures. Be thorough in your research, look at the alternatives and check out the personal testimonies.

The idea supporting using bacterial vaginosis natural cures stems from the current understanding that medical intervention, such as antibiotics, prescription drugs and OTC remedies do not effectively eliminate the causes, although they can be helpful in relieving the symptoms in the short term.

"Bacterial Vaginosis Natural Cures"

Often, a woman’s first reaction is to visit the family doc. Usually, she will be given a written script for antibiotics. Most doctors today do not understand bacterial vaginosis natural cures. Drugs, especially antibiotics which kill the beneficial bacteria, are very rarely a good treatment option for bacterial vaginosis. Drugs are given as they will alleviate the presenting conditions. Unfortunately, this is all they do because the basis for bacterial vaginosis is still there.

This is why over 70% of women who are treated with antibiotics for bacterial vaginosis have repeat attacks within a few short weeks of finishing an antibiotic course

Bacterial Vaginosis Natural Cures Will Re-Balance The Naturally Occurring Bacteria

BV is caused by an imbalance in the naturally occurring bacteria in the vagina and bacterial vaginosis natural cures can work much better than drugs to not only eliminate the problems but to effectively remove the root causes which then prevents a recurrence.

Under normal circumstances, the good bacteria keeps the bad bacteria under control within the vagina. Bacterial vaginosis occurs when there is an overgrowth of the bad bacteria. This can happen for various reasons-it can be something as simple as over-washing or changing your washing detergent. Sometimes it can happen because of a change in sexual partner as this can upset the natural balance within the vagina. When this happens, the typical symptoms of itching, burning, inflammation and the unpleasant fishy odor will begin.

When prescription drugs are given, all bacteria within the vagina are killed off, and this includes the beneficial (or “good”) bacteria. Perhaps this might take away some of the signs of bacterial vaginosis, as soon as the prescription is finished and bacteria naturally repopulates the vagina, the whole cycle will begin again as the root cause of bacterial vaginosis is still there.

Bacterial Vaginosis Natural Cures Work Differently – More Effectively

Bacterial vaginosis natural cures do not work like antibiotics but they are certainly no less effective. Indeed a good natural cure will work faster than antibiotics and will use methods to prevent it from returning.

By using the correct bacterial vaginosis natural cures and  strategies it is possible to re-balance the bacteria levels within the vagina naturally and strengthen and enhance the body’s own ability to heal itself.

When to Start a Bacterial Vaginosis Treatment

Is Timing Important For

Bacterial Vaginosis Treatment?

Choose the most effective BVF" target="_blank">bacterial vaginosis treatment for your symptoms.

It’s been estimated that 25% of women who have symptoms of bacterial vaginosis, also known as BV have noticed that their symptoms have disappeared on their own. It’s also true that many women who have bacterial vaginosis have shown no signs or symptoms at all.

Symptoms That Indicate Bacterial Vaginosis Treatment Is Necessary

The reason for bacterial vaginosis is due to an overgrowth of bacteria in the vagina. There are many natural bacteria that reside in the vagina, but once this becomes imbalanced that causes the overgrowth. Researchers at this time cannot pinpoint just one cause of this type of vaginitis. What they do know however, is that the vagina is naturally acidic and that there are many things that will alter the PH levels. Simple things like perfumed bubble bath, scented “freshness” douches or even sperm which is much less acidic.alt="bacterial vaginosis treatment"

One of the most common symptoms is a discharge, usually thin and white or gray in color. Often this discharge will have a particularly strong fish smell, especially after intercourse.

Whether it’s your first case of this type of vaginitis, or it’s a reoccurring episode, there are several different bacterial vaginosis treatments available.

Different Kinds of Bacterial Vaginosis Treatment

One of the best bacterial vaginosis treatment products that can be used is garlic capsules. Garlic is known for its high antibacterial and anti fungal properties. These capsules can be taken orally, but there are also garlic suppositories that can be inserted directly into the vagina. It is important to keep the suppository in place long enough for it to be effective. You can use a tampon to keep it from leaking having inserted the garlic just before bed.

alt="bacterial vaginosis treatment"

Other forms of natural bacterial vaginosis treatment can also include: Tea tree oil, golden seal or tracheal just to name a few. Many of these natural remedies can be taken in capsule form and some may also be taken in the form of a drink which can be taken right before you go to bed. These forms of natural bacterial vaginosis treatment can help to save you money and time, instead of going to visit your doctor.

alt="bacterial vaginosis treatment"

If you are unsure if you have BV, before trying to find a natural bacterial vaginosis treatment it would be a good idea to visit with your doctor. There are specific tests that can be done to verify the diagnosis.

If  you do  visit your doctor, and it’s been determined that you do have BV, then he or she will prescribe some form of antibiotic. You will probably be given a form of oral antibiotic or a form of vaginal antibiotic that can be taken by applicator to allow the right amount of medication. Just remember that this is a temporary fix. The drugs will alleviate the symptoms but will not restore the natural PH balance, in fact it works against that balance by destroying all bacteria.

If you would like a permanent solution, a bacterial vaginosis treatment that clears up the symptoms and restores the proper acidic balance and teaches you how to stay symptom free then read my Bacterial Vaginosis Freedom Review.

Bacterial vaginosis has been known to be confused with other forms of vaginitis such as a yeast infection or trichomoniasis. So you may want to consult your doctor first, before you begin your bacterial vaginosis treatment.

Bacterial Vaginosis Treatment Naturally

For years, Julie had tried numerous BVBreakthrough.php" target="_blank">bacterial vaginosis treatments  and had suffered from many episodes of this unpleasant condition. So much so that it was literally ruining her life.

She had to contend with all the usual symptoms, such as the burning itching, the grey, watery discharge and that sickly, horrible, stomach-churning smell. Julie was literally at the end of her tether and having tried just about every  bv treatment  going, a good friend recommended a natural treatment. Rather skeptically, she gave it a go and she has allowed me to tell her story.

"Around Christmas last year, I began to notice that I smelled really bad. Not just the usual "womanly" type smell, but this was really offensive-so much so that I began to feel like vomiting. At first I wondered if I was not washing enough, so I started to fit in an extra shower at night as well as my morning one. Even so, it just got worse. I was living at home at the time and my mom mentioned that she had noticed a "smell" (in the way that only mom’s can!). We talked about it and the next day, I went to see my doctor. He was a bit dismissive really, but said he was sure I had "Bacterial Vaginosis" and sent me away with some antibiotics.

I’d never heard of this, but I took the antibiotics and within a couple of days, my symptoms subsided and I was back to normal. I felt an incredible sense of relief and my confidence returned. However, it was short-lived!

Within a few short weeks, I noticed that now-familiar itching and that smell.

By this time I’d managed to get myself a boyfriend and it was early days. This was the last thing I needed. I immediately went to the doctors for more antibiotics and they sure seemed to do their job again. This happened twice more within just a few months and I was tearing my hair out. The antibiotics just didn’t seem to be clearing it properly. I spent a fortune on over the counter bacterial vaginosis treatments but they were, quite frankly, an expensive waste of money.

I carried wet-wipes with me everywhere, plus clean underwear. I seemed to spend half my life in the restrooms, cleaning myself up, but I really stank. Things had moved on with my boyfriend and we began to have a sexual relationship. I just couldn’t bring myself to tell him about the bacterial vaginosis and I would make excuses not to have sex unless I had literally just jumped out of the shower or bath. He thought I’d gone off him. The truth was, I was ashamed!

I eventually told a really good friend of mine all about the problems with bacterial vaginosis. In fact she admitted that she’d noticed that some days I smelled bad but she didn’t know how to tell me. She’d guessed it was bacterial vaginosis and confessed that she’d had the condition a couple of years ago. This was probably my lowest point. I thought I was doing a great job of hiding it by cleaning myself up all the time but obviously not! If she’d noticed, who else had? My boss? My work colleagues? My big brother? People on the bus? How utterly embarrassing!

There were a few tips she gave me which really helped and I’d like to share them with you:-

* Try soaking a tampon in live yogurt and inserting in the vagina

* Try taking garlic capsules as this is a natural antiseptic and can help clear the inflammation

* Do not overwash and avoid the use of any perfumed products around the vaginal area

She also told me about bacterial vaginosis treatments which she had found very successful. I was really dubious at first but decided to give it a go.

I guessed I had nothing to lose and there were a few things which attracted me. First of all, the treatments were "all-natural". Secondly, it would save me lots of money-antibiotics are so expensive! Really though, I liked the fact that it promised that you would be symptom-free within 3 days.

Well, after having symptoms on and off for months, I figured 3 days was not long to wait! (Plus, I had the rather nice "back up" of the "guarantee" if it didn’t work!)

Basically, these no-nonsense natural remedies to treat BV naturally did exactly as promised. I began to notice a big change the next day and within 3 days, I didn’t smell horrible any more and the discharge had gone. I was back to feeling completely fresh and back to normal.

I’ve never had it since!"

Providing you are prepared to invest a little time and effort, you will learn strategies which will ensure that you have no repetition of BV. Like many thousands of women worldwide, you can be completely free of this condition by using natural bacterial vaginosis treatments.

Options for Bacterial Vaginosis Treatment

Bacterial Vaginosis Treatment Options

Possible treatment options for Bacterial Vaginosis include different antibiotics as well as natural treatments. This article discusses both as treatment options.

Most often antibiotics will be prescribed by a doctor when finding a treatment for Bacterial Vaginosis. The most widely used antibiotic is known as Metronidazole. This antibiotic can be taken by mouth with a pill or it can be also be applied to the infected area as a gel. Both the pill and the gel have been proven to be good treatments. Another antibiotic that is used is Clindamycin, as a vaginal cream. Many times, the best treatment often has the worst side effects. In the case of the previously mentioned medication options, the most effective treatment is believed to be the oral metronidazole pills. However, it can cause some unwanted side effects, although these effects are usually minor compared to bv symptoms.

Metronidazole should not be used by women early on in their pregnancy. It is believed to cause negative effects on the fetus. It should also be avoided by mothers who are breastfeeding, as it could possibly harm the baby. The antiobiotic gels are not known to have the same side effects, nevertheless, yeast vaginitis can occur from using the gels.

The downside of using antibiotics is that they don’t guarantee that you will rid yourself from BV for good. In fact, it is very common for women to have recurrent bacterial vaginosis after being treated with antibiotics. Statistically, over 50% of wome successfully treated have vagionsis symptoms again within 1 year. Unfortunately the cause of these recurrent episodes is not well known. Many women have reported that the only way they were able to cure BV for good was to use home remedies.

Another antibiotic that is less well-known and still in a testing phase in the United States is Tinidazole. It has been used in other countries and in Europe to succesfully treat bacterial vaginosis. The promising thing about Tinidazole is that it appears to have less side effects than other treatment options.

Natural treatments are becoming more popular. There are many home remedies that women have reported to use successfuly, such as tea tree oil, olive leaf extract, garlic, etc. However, there are resources and downloadable instructions available to make your own home remedy. Unfortunately, these instructions come with a small cost, but that cost is usually less that a doctor’s visit and may be a worthy option to pursue.

Sometimes just a change in diet and activity can drastically reduce symptoms of bacterial vaginosis. As a final note, if you think you are having symptoms of BV, make sure you get a proper diagnosis, as the best treatment option depends on if you really have BV or just a yeast infection.

Natural Cures For Bacterial Vaginosis

Natural Cures For Bacterial Vaginosis

Any woman can develop a case of Bacterial Vaginosis or BV. BV is not an infection. It is an inflammation which occurs in the vagina when there is an overgrowth of anaerobic bacteria and an organism called Gardnerella. If you are amongst the people who suffer from it, you may wonder what you should take to take away the irritating itch or the unbearable burning sensation or the unpleasant musky vaginal odor. Maybe you have tried every possible medical and prescribed treatment but you just can’t seem to find the right cure for it. Have you ever thought about the option of seeking natural cures for BV?

Here are some reasons why you should consider curing your BV naturally:

a) BV is conventionally treated with a prescription antibiotics taken either orally or vaginally and may include Ampicillin, Ceftriaxone, Clindamycin, Tetracycline or Metronidazole. These antibiotics tend to kill all the bacteria in the vagina including the good bacteria. While the initial success rates are pretty good for these antibiotics, there is approximately a 30% chance that it will have recurrence within six months of treatment. On the other hand, natural cures for BV which involved making some changes to one’s diet, the use of vitamin supplements, herbal products and home remedy methods have proven equally effective but with very few or no recurrence at all.

b) Repeated use of these antibiotics may cause the bacteria in the vagina to develop resistance to the drugs and this may give rise to some strains of highly resistant bacteria. Once this happen, the effectiveness of the antibiotics will be reduced and recurrence of BV will occur more frequently. This may subsequently cause more complications and even lead to infertility or into some other forms of more serious infection. Such scenario will not happen if it is treated using natural treatment, products or cure.

c) Medical treatment of BV, which normally includes the consultation, vaginal cream or gel, and antibiotic capsules, will cost you anything between $250 to $500 for a complete antibiotic treatment. This is not a small amount by any standard. Repeated treatments due to recurrences of the BV will further strained your financial situation. This situation will not happen if it is treated naturally. The herbal products and home remedy methods used to treat it will cost you only a few dollars to purchase or prepare.

BV affects between 10% to 64% of the female population at any given time. If it is left untreated, it can cause more serious symptom and even lead to infertility or a potentially serious condition called Pelvic Inflammatory Disease. Hence its is better for you to treat your Bacterial Vaginosis early than to regret later.

This particular treatment is very popular and has been proven to work. Many women use it to get rid of their yeast infection. In fact you may already have heard it, this home remedy utilizes the aid of unsweetened yogurt.

There are two simple methods for this bacterial vaginosis treatment to be effective:

Method 1:

This method requires you to paint the walls of the vagina with the yogurt. This method can get fairly messy of course so we recommend you to wear a pad while the yogurt is applied to avoid spillage.

Method 2:

This second method is less messy and requires you to use a tampon. You just need to slightly coat the tampon in the yogurt and insert it into the vagina. Just make sure you replace it every few hours.

Another home remedy you can use as a bacterial vaginosis treatment is garlic. Note this treatment is not for the faint nosed. Garlic is known as a basic wonder-herb, it can do just about anything you need. Of course this treatment is not for everybody if you can’t smell garlic then just don’t use it But many swear by this method. It is a great bacterial vaginosis treatment.

One of the methods you can with use garlic involves peeling it first; you then wrap the garlic clove in a piece of gauze then tying it off with regular dental floss. Then you need to insert it into your vagina. Just make sure to leave a length of the dental floss dangling to be able to pull it out. Repeat every few hours until the infection gets better.

Of course these Natural treatments may not be for you in that case you should turn to other alternative Natural remedies. There are various treatments available from gamut to apple cider vinegar bath to garlic suppositories and yogurt coated tampons.
