Your questions about symptoms of bv

Mary asks…

Can BV symptoms show up the day after sex?

Can BV or does BV show up the day after sex? 4 months ago I had unprotected sex and the next day I had a horrible infection. I thought I had an std, can you get symptoms of an STD the day after sex? I took medication for BV and the infection went away. So do you think it was just BV? if it was an STD wouldn’t i still have symptoms by now? please i’m so scared.

admin answers:

You can have BV again. Or, you could have an STD related discharge coincidental to your recent sexual activity. To be sure you should visit your local health care professional and have it tested.

Donna asks…

Being treated for BV..symptoms still occuring?

Hi..i went to the gyno almost a week ago with the symptoms of a little discharge and a smelly odor down there. I was given the bacterial and yeast infection test, which came back a day later that i had a bacterial infection. I also got the Chlamydia/Gonnorhea pap..but they said the results would take up to 5 days..i will call tomorrow to check on the results.

So, i’ve been on Metradizole(sp?) for the bacterial infection for 4 or 5 days, i still have 3 days worth of dosages left…yet I still have discharge and a slight odor, it’s not as strong but it is there. Is it possible that i may have something else along with the BV?? Or do i just need to wait until i finish the medication?

I will call about the other test tomorrow though, i’m just wondering in advance:]

Also, does this have anything to do with the fact that i have reoccuring BV?

admin answers:

Maybe you just have a particularly strong case of BV & will get relief in the next few days… or perhaps you will need a second treatment, the doctor will let you know (also if its another infection too)

I take acidophilus pills to help get my balance back in check as well.

Thomas asks…

do i really have to finish all the antibiotics prescribed if symptoms improve already?

I’m prescribed metrodizonale(flagyl) vaginal gel (5 days) and 7 days antiotics – 2 pills a day for BV. Symptoms are fine after day 3 – starting to feel side effects. can i stop after 5 days instead of 7? the bacetrial vaginosis flare up this time wasn’t severe
jsut want to add that they symptoms weren’t severe to begin with. she prescribed only the gel last time, now she’s including so many pills along with the gel…how do we know it takes the full 7 days to get rid of bacteria?

admin answers:

Absolutely it is necessary for you to finish them. If you do not then you take a risk of acquiring a much more severe infection the next time as you are allowing the bacteria to become resistant by not completely getting rid of them.

Jenny asks…

Are these symptoms Thrush, BV or something else?

Im not sure whether this is thrush or BV.
I had strong, cloudy urine and it was sore when i had sex. I was told(by tests) i had thrush, got treated for it and was told it was gone but i still had some symptoms then got told it was bv, took antibiotics which stopped my pee smelling and pain but this came back after about 2 days of finishing the antibiotics.
My urine does not smell all the time now but still is abit cloudy and it hurts when i have sex, my urine also always smells very strongly and cloudy after sex. i don’t have any obviously white and thick discharge, its thin and clear but there seems to be alot so im not sure what i have anymore i’ve been tested for everything else; urine tests, stds. and they came back clear.

admin answers:

probably a yeast infection because antibiotics kills the good flora in your intestines..

Bv Miracle Review

You’re reading my uncensored review of what I really thought about BV Miracle     – Sherry Fields here!

Note that this is a review. If you’re looking for the official BV Miracle website, then click here: BV Miracle

Why am I writing this? Well, when I was thinking of buying BV Miracle, there weren’t many real reviews around.

So, I thought I’d do a quick write-up to help any of you who are in the same position I was.

But be warned, I’ll be going into the good and the bad points of BV Miracle, so if that’s not something you want to read, you might may as well leave now.

My first impressions of BV Miracle:

When preparing to write my BV Miracle review, I was quite frankly shocked. Today there are many products online that claim to have “the answer” “the cure”, but are mainly just mashed up pieces of information to build out their ebook.

BV Miracle is as far from that as it can get. I was very pleasantly surprised to find a lot of research was done to get the whole story and present them in a very readable way.

The table of contents is four pages long! This product does not meander and leave you confused about the issues surrounding bacterial vaginosis. With a very thoughtful and progressive introduction to BV, the book continues looking at what every woman wants to know – is it curable.

Before that can be answered it is important that the reader really understand what BV is, what are its symptoms, how is it diagnosed, are there complications and finally what are the treatment options. BV Miracle covers these questions completely.

The top 5 things that I learned from BV Miracle:

1. Bacterial Vaginosis is the most common infection of all women of childbearing age.

2. There are over 17 known causes of BV.

3. Over half of women infected with bacterial vaginosis have no symptoms at all.

4. It is very important to have a clear diagnosis, so that proper treatment can be applied.

5. Natural treatments are numerous and varied and include herbs, homeopathy, specific baths, douches, dietary changes, life style changes, replacing the good bacteria and taking supplements to not only fight infection but build up your immune system.

What I find most useful about BV Miracle:

In this BV Miracle Review it is important to point out how comprehensive this ebook really is! All of the allopathic options are discussed clearly without bias and even support in some cases, as well as the naturopathic approach.

Women today need all the information and resources available to make an informed decision about the care of their bodies. There are noted resources throughout the book as well as three pages of bibliography at the end, for everyone to pursue more/varied data on subjects discussed.

The clear concise way the book is laid out will make it a useful reference for all women to keep and share with daughters, other family members and friends.

Who would benefit from purchasing BV Miracle:

Women who are experiencing symptoms of bacterial vaginosis – vaginal discharge, odor, itching or burning sensations in the vaginal area or during sex or during urination will benefit immediately.

  • Women who have BV recurring will finally have information to deal with the cause of bacterial vaginosis, treat it and get on with their lives.alt="BV Miracle"
  • Women who are pregnant, as BV can cause complications such as premature delivery and low birth weight babies, or even an ectopic pregnancy.
  • Women who have a new sexual partner, or multiple partners and women in lesbian relationships.
  • Women who smoke.
  • Women who douche frequently with perfumed products, or frequently have perfumed baths.
  • Women who lead stressful lives and don’t take the necessary time or steps to relax and rejuvenate.
  • Women who lack essential nutrients – often from following restrictive diets.
  • Women who have poor sleep patterns.

What I think was left out of BV Miracle:

As comprehensive as BV Miracle is, this is not a source of medical case studies or clinical studies reported in the medical journals. BV is still enigmatic for the medical community and they freely admit they do not know the exact cause and have been frustrated finding a cure. At best they provide relief through antibiotics, knowing that the disease will reoccur.

To be fair in my BV Miracle Review, this is one woman’s journey and how she found a permanent cure. From the content it is clear that she researched all possible areas to find the best information to cure bacterial vaginosis and succeeded. Often in the naturopathic world there is not sufficient funding to provide ongoing research and empirical evidence to support subjective testimonies.

How quickly BV Miracle can help someone:

Some women report relief from symptoms in as little as 3 or 4 days. However to fully treat bacterial vaginosis you need to address all of the other issues mentioned previously, such as dietary changes, life style changes and supplementation.

Building your immune system is an integral part of a ‘cure’. It is important not to skip this step. In order to rid your body of the infection and stop re-infection you need to take supplements to rebuild your immune system.

Proof that BV Miracle really works:

This is the author Megan MacDonald’s story:

“After years of struggling with BV I have to tell you there is nothing as embarrassing, as painful, or as annoying as having re-occurring bacterial vaginosis infection. It’s difficult to deal with, difficult to have a sexual relationship with, and almost impossible to live with.”

“I tried everything. From the drugs to different drugs to the suppositories and even more drugs. Nothing worked. The first round of drugs worked for a week and then I started having sex again with my boyfriend and I swear it came back overnight.”

“I hated it and my life for so long. Now I have to tell you that my BV is finally gone! Not just gone for a week or two, but gone as in forever! It’s such a relief. I can’t believe it. My self confidence is back. I’m back!”

Additional skills or tools needed to get the most out of BV Miracle:

There aren’t any skills or tools needed, but you will have to be committed to achieving your goal and do all of the steps involved. It may mean that you will have to buy supplements, or make better food choices, reduce your stress and quit smoking. But the relief will be worth it.

My final words about BV Miracle:

In summary, if you have been suffering from bacterial vaginosis you will benefit from the book BV Miracle. If you are not sure if you have BV then you too will benefit from the well written and researched information in this book. If you have had BV and are pregnant and have questions, you will find the answers in BV Miracle.

Options for Bacterial Vaginosis Treatment

Bacterial Vaginosis Treatment Options

Possible treatment options for Bacterial Vaginosis include different antibiotics as well as natural treatments. This article discusses both as treatment options.

Most often antibiotics will be prescribed by a doctor when finding a treatment for Bacterial Vaginosis. The most widely used antibiotic is known as Metronidazole. This antibiotic can be taken by mouth with a pill or it can be also be applied to the infected area as a gel. Both the pill and the gel have been proven to be good treatments. Another antibiotic that is used is Clindamycin, as a vaginal cream. Many times, the best treatment often has the worst side effects. In the case of the previously mentioned medication options, the most effective treatment is believed to be the oral metronidazole pills. However, it can cause some unwanted side effects, although these effects are usually minor compared to bv symptoms.

Metronidazole should not be used by women early on in their pregnancy. It is believed to cause negative effects on the fetus. It should also be avoided by mothers who are breastfeeding, as it could possibly harm the baby. The antiobiotic gels are not known to have the same side effects, nevertheless, yeast vaginitis can occur from using the gels.

The downside of using antibiotics is that they don’t guarantee that you will rid yourself from BV for good. In fact, it is very common for women to have recurrent bacterial vaginosis after being treated with antibiotics. Statistically, over 50% of wome successfully treated have vagionsis symptoms again within 1 year. Unfortunately the cause of these recurrent episodes is not well known. Many women have reported that the only way they were able to cure BV for good was to use home remedies.

Another antibiotic that is less well-known and still in a testing phase in the United States is Tinidazole. It has been used in other countries and in Europe to succesfully treat bacterial vaginosis. The promising thing about Tinidazole is that it appears to have less side effects than other treatment options.

Natural treatments are becoming more popular. There are many home remedies that women have reported to use successfuly, such as tea tree oil, olive leaf extract, garlic, etc. However, there are resources and downloadable instructions available to make your own home remedy. Unfortunately, these instructions come with a small cost, but that cost is usually less that a doctor’s visit and may be a worthy option to pursue.

Sometimes just a change in diet and activity can drastically reduce symptoms of bacterial vaginosis. As a final note, if you think you are having symptoms of BV, make sure you get a proper diagnosis, as the best treatment option depends on if you really have BV or just a yeast infection.
