I don’t itch and it has no odor what so ever so I’m a little stumped. I know STDs cause it to have a bad odor and yellowish green coloring.

Do you think you are pregnant? Take a test.

All girls have a normal white/clear wet mucous discharge as the vagina is self-cleaning. A change in discharge is not a symptom of pregnancy. The amount and consistency can vary due to water intake, diet, exercise, medication, hormones, illness….

admin answers:

The flagyl should help you feel better in 3-5 days. MAKE sure you do not consume any alcohol while on that med, it will make you very nauseous.

So not have any sexual contact while on the med, you can transmit this back and forth even though it is not technically an STD.

Another med you could take would be clindesse vaginal cream, you only have to use it once (is RX) at bedtime and you would not have to worry about the nausea.

Hope this helps.

If you have any other questions on this that I did not answer, look at WEBMD.com, it has accurate medical info.

I was wondering if anyone has ever had bacterial vaginosis and what your symptoms were.
Can bacterial vaginosis cause a burning feeling in the clitoris and just beneath it?

I have been having a burning feeling inside the inner labia just under the clitoris. It sometimes looks a little red and sometimes it does not. I recently took Diflucan and that didn’t help. Now I am noticing a slightly thick, milky discharge. I’m starting to wonder if it could be bacterial vaginosis. Would BV cause burning in the clitoral area without causing burning in and around the vagina?

admin answers:

BV has a very distinct, unpleasant odor and burns. If it’s near the clitoris and just under it, that could very likely be from a bladder infection (that’s where your urethra is). However, if that was the case you’d have pain when urinating. My best advice is to see a health care professional and get a proper diagnosis so you can treat the condition and get rid of it. To state the obvious, there should be no discomfort, burning, itching or discharge in a normal healthy vagina.

Can bacterial vaginosis or a yeast infection affect my ability or orgasm?

Can bacterial vaginosis or a yeast infection affect my ability or orgasm?
I recently got over a bout of pneumonia. The antibiotics I had to take gave me a yeast infection (i think). I have a history of bacterial vaginosis and this is also something I’m considering. I am not sure which it is, but I realized I no longer can have an orgasm. I plan to go see my gyno, but this isn’t something I would ask him.

admin answers:

This is something you SHOULD ask your GYN. It’s relevant and he would know the answer better than most of the people here.

Bacterial vaginosis is usually caused by bacteria entering your vagina, perhaps from a lover that doesn’t keep his penis or hands clean. Or you touching yourself with unclean hands.

Stressing about having bacterial vaginosis can cause you to not have orgasms. Talk to your GYN. Relax. Your orgasms should come back.

Being treated for BV..symptoms still occuring?

Hi..i went to the gyno almost a week ago with the symptoms of a little discharge and a smelly odor down there. I also got the Chlamydia/Gonnorhea pap..but they said the results would take up to 5 days..i will call tomorrow to check on the results.

So, i’ve been on Metradizole(sp?) for the bacterial infection for 4 or 5 days, i still have 3 days worth of dosages left…yet I still have discharge and a slight odor, it’s not as strong but it is there.
The most noticeable of the <a title="Bacterial Vaginosis Treatment Review" href="http://www.bacterialvaginosistreatmentreview.com/bv-miracle-review" target="_self">Bacterial Vaginosis Symptoms is an unusual vaginal discharge that has a unique fishy odor. This is most apparent after intimate relations and is usually accompanied by a discharge that is white and gray in appearance. Although it is also true that a significant number of women and young girls show no visible bacterial vaginosis symptoms.

A burning sensation during urination, itching and redness of the vaginal area often accompany the discharge. If intercourse is painful then you may also want to consult a physician. Unfortunately BV does not always present itself, there have been cases where women had no noticeable symptoms prior to infection.

Left untreated bacterial vaginosis symptoms can promote other complications, like unsuccessful pregnancies even ectopic pregnancies, or PID (pelvic inflammatory disease). Bacterial vaginosis symptoms, while clearly not the cause, can and does weaken the system to allow active HIV, Chlamydia and other STDs

To recap:

Main Symptoms:

A noticeable odor after sex.

Also after sex a gray and/or white discharge

Secondary Bacterial Vaginosis Symptoms:

Painful Sex

Painful Urination

Itching in the Vaginal Area

Redness in the Vaginal Area

Having Identified Bacterial Vaginosis Symptoms – the next step

Once you identify bacterial vaginosis symptoms, one should see a doctor, but quite often, out of unnecessary embarrassment women avoid going. Quite often, those that do go to the doctor are prescribed pills and creams to kill the bacteria; the downside to this is that these kill all bacteria, both the good and bad. Upon recurrence of the bacterial vaginosis symptoms they use more and more pills and creams continuing to kill more and more good bacteria.

For years, Julie had tried numerous <a href="http://www.bacterialvaginosistreatmentreview.com/recommends/BVBreakthrough.php" target="_blank">bacterial vaginosis treatments and had suffered from many episodes of this unpleasant condition. So much so that it was literally ruining her life.

She had to contend with all the usual symptoms, such as the burning itching, the grey, watery discharge and that sickly, horrible, stomach-churning smell. Julie was literally at the end of her tether and having tried just about every bv treatment going, a good friend recommended a natural treatment. Rather skeptically, she gave it a go and she has allowed me to tell her story.

"Around Christmas last year, I began to notice that I smelled really bad. Not just the usual "womanly" type smell, but this was really offensive-so much so that I began to feel like vomiting. At first I wondered if I was not washing enough, so I started to fit in an extra shower at night as well as my morning one. Even so, it just got worse. I was living at home at the time and my mom mentioned that she had noticed a "smell" (in the way that only mom’s can!). We talked about it and the next day, I went to see my doctor. He was a bit dismissive really, but said he was sure I had "Bacterial Vaginosis" and sent me away with some antibiotics.

I’d never heard of this, but I took the antibiotics and within a couple of days, my symptoms subsided and I was back to normal. I felt an incredible sense of relief and my confidence returned. However, it was short-lived!

Within a few short weeks, I noticed that now-familiar itching and that smell.

By this time I’d managed to get myself a boyfriend and it was early days. This was the last thing I needed. I immediately went to the doctors for more antibiotics and they sure seemed to do their job again. This happened twice more within just a few months and I was tearing my hair out. The antibiotics just didn’t seem to be clearing it properly. I spent a fortune on over the counter bacterial vaginosis treatments but they were, quite frankly, an expensive waste of money.

I carried wet-wipes with me everywhere, plus clean underwear. I seemed to spend half my life in the restrooms, cleaning myself up, but I really stank. Things had moved on with my boyfriend and we began to have a sexual relationship. I just couldn’t bring myself to tell him about the bacterial vaginosis and I would make excuses not to have sex unless I had literally just jumped out of the shower or bath. He thought I’d gone off him. The truth was, I was ashamed!

I eventually told a really good friend of mine all about the problems with bacterial vaginosis. In fact she admitted that she’d noticed that some days I smelled bad but she didn’t know how to tell me. She’d guessed it was bacterial vaginosis and confessed that she’d had the condition a couple of years ago. This was probably my lowest point. I thought I was doing a great job of hiding it by cleaning myself up all the time but obviously not! If she’d noticed, who else had? My boss? My work colleagues? My big brother? People on the bus? How utterly embarrassing!

There were a few tips she gave me which really helped and I’d like to share them with you:-

* Try soaking a tampon in live yogurt and inserting in the vagina

* Try taking garlic capsules as this is a natural antiseptic and can help clear the inflammation

* Do not overwash and avoid the use of any perfumed products around the vaginal area

She also told me about bacterial vaginosis treatments which she had found very successful. I was really dubious at first but decided to give it a go.

I guessed I had nothing to lose and there were a few things which attracted me. First of all, the treatments were "all-natural". Secondly, it would save me lots of money-antibiotics are so expensive! Really though, I liked the fact that it promised that you would be symptom-free within 3 days.

Well, after having symptoms on and off for months, I figured 3 days was not long to wait! (Plus, I had the rather nice "back up" of the "guarantee" if it didn’t work!)

Basically, these no-nonsense natural remedies to treat BV naturally did exactly as promised. I began to notice a big change the next day and within 3 days, I didn’t smell horrible any more and the discharge had gone. I was back to feeling completely fresh and back to normal.

I’ve never had it since!"

Providing you are prepared to invest a little time and effort, you will learn strategies which will ensure that you have no repetition of BV. Like many thousands of women worldwide, you can be completely free of this condition by using natural bacterial vaginosis treatments.
